PORTAGE (WKZO) — The Portage City Council has approved their next city budget, which will increase city spending.
They will be filling some of the jobs they left vacant during tougher times and spending 25-thousand dollars for a pilot program for body cams on Portage Public Safety officers.
The Public Safety Department will get a new half-million dollar information system, and they will be adding two people to their maintenance staff.
Even though the tax rate will say the same, every taxpayer will be paying a little bit more because of rising property values.
