BRONSON (WKZO) — They just barely survived an explosion at their home near Bronson in Branch County and nearly a week later, they remain in bad shape at Bronson Methodist Hospital’s Burn Unit.
Andy Hemker and his 4-year-old son, Wyatt were using a small skip loader to do some work on their property when it suddenly exploded.
It left the little boy burned over 20% of his body. He is still on life support in critical condition.
His dad was burned over 35% of his body, he was upgraded to serious condition on Wednesday.
The Skip loader had been repaired just the day before, but something went terribly wrong
It’s being investigated.
