THREE RIVERS (WKZO) — Police in Three Rivers have identified the armed robber that has come to be known as the Panda Bandit.
He robbed the Shell Station on West Main on May 1st wearing the head from a Panda Costume.
Police say the man behind the mask is 23-year-old Cory Joseph Dwyer, and they are looking for him.
Surveillance cameras show him going behind the counter and grabbing a few things, and then leaving. It also shows the female clerk running out behind him, and when she confronts him outside, he pistol-whips her and runs away.
He abandoned the gun and the mask a few blocks away. Police aren’t saying how they connected Dwyer to the mask. They believe he may be in the Sturgis are or perhaps Howe, Indiana.
He may be using a red 1994 Jeep Wrangler with Indiana license plate WKD 706.
