SCHOOLCRAFT (WKZO) — A man who reached over the counter and grabbed cash out of the register at the Sunset Market late last night is in the Kalamazoo County Jail this morning.
The Strong Armed Robbery took place at the Sunset Market at the corner of Portage and E. VW Avenue in South County about 10:20 pm.
The robber ran from the store, jumped into a small red car and fled east on VW Ave.
A short time later, a Vicksburg Police officer spotted the car and tried to pull it over.
The driver fled off at a high speed but apparently the car couldn’t handle the speed and became disabled.
The suspect tried to flee on foot but didn’t get far before he was arrested.
Deputies will be seeking multiple charges against the suspect.
