BATTLE CREEK (WKZO) — A large gathering outside the Lakeview Square Mall near Applebees late Friday night that got unruly with some participants beginning to brawl, didn’t need police to break it up.
One man pulled out a gun and apparently shot it into the air.
The crowd scattered, but no one was injured.
All Battle Creek officers found at the scene when they arrived was a ripped hoodie and shell casings on the pavement.
They are interviewing witnesses and charges may result.
A man and a woman are being treated at Borgess Hospital in Kalamazoo after they crashed their ATV during an early morning cross country ride Saturday in Park Township. They were driving in the dark at about 1 a.m. in a grassy area along Hutchinson Road, north of Moorepark, when the ATV rolled over. Three people were on board at the time. A male passenger was injured and a woman pinned under the ATV. People at the scene were able to lift the ATV back onto its wheels and off the woman, before emergency personnel arrived. Their names and conditions were not released.
