KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Salvation Army of Kalamazoo will officially begin the 2022 Red Kettle Campaign with a kickoff event at Celebration Cinema in Portage, Wednesday, November 17 beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Organizers say the kickoff will aim to raise awareness of the importance of donations collected with the red kettles along with what the donations are used for locally.
Attendees will also learn about the need for programs and services offered by The Salvation Army of Kalamazoo along with the value of giving and volunteering, with several local businesses set to donate funds at the event and speak about their companies’ support of the organization.
During 2022, over 10,000 individuals and families will have been served by The Salvation Army of Kalamazoo.
Locally, The Salvation Army is hoping to raise over $140,000 through the 2022 Red Kettle Campaign, which takes an estimated 2,000 volunteers to cover all kettle locations during the holiday season.
