LANSING, MI — The Capitol Commission this week did not approve banning guns at the state Capitol because of not having metal detectors and extra security guards.
Governor Whitmer has sounded off on that, telling WLNS-TV in Lansing that if they were to reconsider, she would “look favorably” on the state paying for both of those.
The governor has been pushing for the guns to be outlawed from the Capitol, saying no lawmaker should go to work under “fear of their safety and being intimidated.”
