WASHINGTON D.C. (WKZO) — A new government audit that has not yet been released, will claim that the federal government also has to shoulder some of the blame for faulty GM ignition systems.
The Inspector’s general report shows that NHTSA repeatedly failed to hold automakers accountable for safety lapses, didn’t collect data correctly due to weak management and an untrained staff.
Early copies of he report were obtained by the Detroit News.
