KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety continues to investigate a shooting incident on the city’s northside Tuesday evening.
Around 6:00 p.m. officers responded to reports of gunfire in the 700 block of Staples Avenue.
When they arrived, officers located two separate vehicle accidents. Witnesses in the area reported hearing gunshots and seeing vehicles driving recklessly in the area.
While police were investigating, a 49-year-old Kalamazoo resident arrived at a local hospital via personal transportation with an apparent gunshot wound to the leg. The victim’s injuries are not considered to be life-threatening.
