Detroit, MI (WKZO) — Chicago jumped all over Detroit on a sacfly by Avisail Garcia scoring Jose Abreu who double down the left field line advancing to 3rd on an error by Tigers (LF) Yoenis Cespedes and a solo home run by Melky Cabrera in the 2nd. Then in the 6th when Garcia singles to right; Adam Eaton scores and Adam LaRoche’s sacfly scoring Abreu, Chicago goes up 4-0 knocking Detroit starter David Price out of the game while White Sox’s starter Jeff Samardzija was in total control silencing the roar of Tigers bats thru 7. Detroit was finally able to put it together in the 8th, with the bases loaded Ian Kinsler was hit by a pitch scoring James McCann and Victor Martinez hit a bullet to right center field gap for a 3 RBI double, Tigers tied the game at four all. Tigers catcher James McCann steps to the plate and crushes a 0-2 pitch deep to left for the walk off, Tigers win 5-4. Tigers pitcher Joakim Soria gets the win his 3rd while Chicago’s pitcher Zach Putman gets the loss.
