LANSING (WKZO) — If you have veterans in the Neighborhood, you may want to let them know if you have plans for personal fireworks shows.
Some of them may still suffer from the effects of P.T.S.D.
State Senator John Proos says the rockets red glare and bombs bursting in air may mean patriotism for most of us, but for some veterans can bring back painful memories of combat.
This year twelve State Parks have declared themselves to be “fireworks free” zones but most of them are far to the north.
Fireworks can have a similar effect on some dogs, not because they are necessarily traumatized but because of their keener sense of hearing.
They may need to be kept in a quiet room with the TV on for the duration.
