ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — St. Joseph County deputies are looking for a vehicle they believe to have been involved in an early morning hit-and-run incident that sent a man to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Deputies were called to US-12 near Riverside Drive in Mottville Township around 5:35 a.m. Thursday morning, October 20 where they found the injured pedestrian in the roadway.
Further investigation revealed that the 33-year-old male from White Pigeon appeared to have been struck by an eastbound passenger car that had left the scene after the crash. The victim was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Authorities believe the suspect vehicle to be a gray 2000-2005 Cadillac Deville, with damage to the front bumper/grille/hood area.
Deputies were assisted at the scene by Lifecare Ambulance, the White Pigeon Fire Dept., West Michigan Aircare, the Michigan State Police, and MDOT.
