KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — A Kalamazoo teen was gut-shot and conscious when Public Safety responded to a report of gunfire at the Fox Ridge Apartments at 3 p.m. Sunday.
Despite the severity of his wound, he was not cooperative with officers, in fact they suspect he may have lied to them about the shooting.
He was rushed by ambulance from building 1501 at Fox Ridge to Bronson.
The 19-year-old is reported in serious condition after emergency surgery to repair damage to his abdomen.
Investigators are looking for anyone who may have witnessed the shooting, or seen something suspicious before or after the assault. .
