KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — Just as the summer is warming up, Woods Lake Beach will be closing to allow reconstruction of the entire facility, everything that is but the water.
Parks Director Sean Fletcher says it will include new bathrooms and changing areas, better parking and a picnic shelter.
The work was originally scheduled for last year but had to be cancelled because none of the bids for the work came in under the city’s budget.
The downsized project is being done thanks to a $360 thousand DNR grant that would expire if the city didn’t use it soon.
