AUGUSTA (WKZO) — Senator Debbie Stabenow and Congressman Fred Upton visited Fort Custer yesterday to promote the location as prime for a proposed $3.5-billion anti-ballistic missile base and to support the Air National Guard Bases application to become a Cyber Security facility.
Upton says three sites are competing for the Pentagon Missile Contract, which would create 300 permanent jobs.
Upton says the entire Michigan Congressional Delegation may pick a day and visit the base in September to continue the drumbeat for the upgrades.
