VAN BUREN COUNTY (WKZO) An Illinois man is dead and his wife in critical condition after their car was rear-ended by a semi, in a crash that would involve two semis and two passenger cars.
Traffic was slowed by a grass fire in the median, the semi-driver was apparently distracted and slammed into the back of an eastbound Cadillac containing the couple from Illinois.
It was forced into a red Pontiac Grand Am driven by a 51-year-old woman from Paw Paw.
The semi then swerved to the right lane where it rear-ended a semi. The at-fault semi driver, a 51-year-old from Nevada, is being treated for serious injuries.
The driver of the Cadillac was pronounced dead at Bronson Lakeview.
The investigation continues.
