LANSING, MI — Violent crime in the Capital City is quickly on the rise. That’s according to a new FBI report, which shows Lansing is now the 17th most violent city in the United States.
The report showed an increase in violent crime in Lansing by nearly three percent from last year while murders increased by more than fifty percent since 2020.
Other Michigan cities joining Lansing in the Top 20 of most violent cities in the nation are Saginaw, Detroit and Kalamazoo. Saginaw is the most violent city in the state.
