OKEMOS, MI — Okemos Public Schools has announced it is ending its varsity football season due to a player shortage and a concern for the safety of the remaining players.
The school says it has lost a handful of players to injury over the first half of the season which saw the team go 0-5. They were outscored 299-6 in those games. The team’s remaining games with Clare, DeWitt, Grand Ledge and Lansing Everett have been cancelled.
The Wolves will continue playing its junior varsity schedule to the conclusion of the season.
