KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Salvation Army of Kalamazoo is once again ‘Standing Down for Veterans.’
Organized by the Kalamazoo County Veterans Service Office, the Veteran’s Stand Down event is set to take place on Friday, September 30 at the Salvation Army building on 1700 South Burdick Street in Kalamazoo.
The annual event is open to all veterans with a government issued ID card, and will feature free flu and COVID-19 vaccines, clothing, haircuts, access to dental and nursing care as well as information on community services.
Hot breakfast and lunch will be available along with free bus service to the event via Kalamazoo Metro with proper identification.
Salvation Army corps officer Captain Ronnie Amick said, “The Salvation Army of Kalamazoo is honored and blessed to serve as the host site once again
for the Veteran’s Stand Down. Far too many of our local heroes are facing life struggles and deserve all the support our community can offer.”
The event is free for veterans and registration is not required.
