KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — An 18-year-old man accused of breaking into a Kalamazoo Township couple’s apartment and killing them in December of 2020 is set to face a re-trial and a new jury.
According to WWMT, jury selection for the re-trial began Monday morning, September 26 for Tikario Taylor-McMillon who’s original six day trial led to three days of deliberations and a mistrial back in March of this year.
McMillon is the youngest of three siblings charged in connection to the deadly home invasion.
His older brother D-Angelo Davis was found guilty in June on two counts of first-degree murder. At that time, Davis pleaded guilty to lesser charges at the start of this year but lost the deal after he refused to testify against his younger brother.
However, their sister, Tonesha Taylor-McMillon accepted a plea deal in exchange for her testimony against her brothers.
During McMillon’s first trial, she testified that, “Tikario shot them both,” and confessed to her that he pulled the trigger.
