LANSING, MI — The Bissel Pet Foundation has announced another Empty the Shelters event coming in October to mid-Michigan. The foundation makes money available to make it possible for local shelters to reduce adoption fees to $50 or less in some cases.
The next event is set for Oct. 1 – 8 and is expected to include the Capital Area Humane Society in Lansing and the Ingham County Animal Control shelter in Mason. Though dates may vary slightly between shelters, according to a press release.
“Empty the Shelters” is the largest funded adoption event in the country, according to the Bissel Pet Foundation. The effort has helped more than 117,716 pets find loving homes, according to the event press release.
