PORTAGE (WKZO) — Getting around portage will be more of a challenge this weekend.
The reconstruction project on Westnedge Avenue is coming to an important step with the milling and paving of a new asphalt base course that can be a traffic stopping operation.
To minimize the impact to local businesses, it is being done in the overnight hours this weekend and that means the closure of Milham and Mall Drive at Westnedge as well. Other local streets may also be closed as the construction moves along.
The closures will be in effect from 9pm Saturday night until 8am Sunday and from 6pm Sunday until 6am Monday morning.
Detours will be posted.
