ANTWERP TOWNSHIP (WKZO) — A 59-year-old man from Paw Paw may be counting his blessings this morning after he was run over by his own truck and could have easily been killed.
Van Buren County Deputies are calling an accident and have already closed the case.
They say the driver stopped his pick-up along Red Arrow highway about 1:30 Saturday afternoon to fetch something from the back and must have left it in reverse instead of park.
Just as he reached in, the truck began to move backwards, rolling over his leg and pelvis with the rear tire.
A witness saw what had happened, jumped into the driver’s seat and rolled the truck back off of the victim.
He was transported to Borgess Emergency in Kalamazoo where he was treated and released.
