TEXAS TOWNSHIP (WKZO) — It sounds like a major disaster has just occurred right around the next bend if you don’t know what it’s about.
It is about helping kids who have survived their own personal disasters forget them for a week.
The kids who will attend this years Great Lakes Burn Camp got to ride in a procession of fire trucks, the lights and sirens blaring, behind a parade of over two hundred motorcyclists.
The parade begins at Wing’s Event Center and roars across the county to Camp Pretty Lake in TexasTownship.
Firefighters raise money all year to foot the bill to have kids scarred by burns enjoy a summer week in the woods with other kids who have had their same experience.
It’s just like any other summer camp, except for the extra medical help some kids need. This year 60-children selected from all over the Midwest are participating.
