BIRCH RUN (WKZO) — A nicer kinder Donald Trump arrived in Saginaw to address a local republican fundraiser Tuesday night.
He said nothing but kind things about Mexicans and women, and avoided saying really bad things about his opponents unless it was tied directly to policy statements.
He was positively upbeat for most of the evening, and said he was quite optimistic about winning.
Apparently he saw the same polls that everyone else did showing him in the lead, he also took note of the polls that stated a lot more people thought he was negative and not “presidential”.
There still wasn’t a lot of substance or specifics when it came to policies and solutions.
Trump says he has learned in business that it’s never wise to be tied down to a plan. He says to be successful in business, you have to be flexible, but he did promise he would be releasing some policy statements in the next few weeks.
Trump was greeted outside the Expo Center in Birch Run by about 150 protestors, mainly democrats and members from a local Hispanic Council.
They don’t like “The Donald”
Officials with the Saginaw and Genesee Republican party say love him or hate him, Trump will draw a crowd and that was the goal of the fundraiser.
It was Trump’s first visit to Michigan as a presidential candidate this election cycle.
