PORTAGE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The City of Portage is updating it’s Parks 5-Year Recreation and Open Space Plan and they are seeking input from the public.
And that’s why the city is holding a community Open House on Thursday, September 8, to get input from the public.
The open house will take place at Portage City Hall at 7900 South Westnedge Avenue from 6 until 8 p.m.
Officials say the event is designed to be a community-driven, participatory design process with the goal of gathering input for future improvements to public green spaces and trails.
Attendees will be asked to share their vision and ideas for enhancements to the Portage park system and programs. Landscape architects will be on hand to facilitate the discussion and answer questions.
Input received will be used to help formulate goals and objectives for the plan.
In addition to the meeting, an online survey will be available through Friday, September 30 for residents to provide feedback on the park system and submit their ideas. To complete the survey, visit portagemi.gov/207.
