KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — He had babies on board, but that didn’t stop a shoplifting suspect at Target on south Westnedge from fleeing from police with reckless abandon.
Officers were arriving, just as the suspect was leaving the Target parking lot on South Westnedge Monday afternoon.
The officer chased the Green Chevy Trailblazer, even after it struck another vehicle, but determined it was putting too many people at risk in the heavy traffic to continue the chase and broke it off.
Investigators learned from store personnel that the suspect had a woman and two small children, including an infant with him during the retail fraud and during the chase.
He is described as a black male, 20-35 years old, 5’10” – 6’1”, 180-210 lbs.
It is believed that the suspect has ties to the Kalamazoo and/or Battle Creek communities.
