TROY (WKZO) — Remember we told you about a Troy man who makes and sells flamethrowers.
For $900 dollars you can have one too, whether or not you have a criminal record, a mental disability or old enough to know better.
A St.Clair Shores Democrat would like to put him out of business, at least in Michigan.
State House Rep. Sarah Roberts is working on a bill to ban the sale of the fire-spitting devices in the State of Michigan.
She says she can’t think of a single good reason anyone would want one, and she says someone is going to get hurt.
CEO Chris Byars says he has come up ways to use the XM42 around the house, clearing ice off sidewalks, insect control, eliminating weeds between cracks in pavement. But he says even if he was only selling them for entertainment, the Goverment shouldn’t interfere.
Byars says he will just pack up his operation and move out of state if the ban is approved.
The Mayor of Warren, and several other officials around the country are also contemplating bans as they learn about the XM-48.
