KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — A biker is injured after he was hit by a vehicle on Kalamazoo’s Eastside.
It happened around 6:45 p.m. Thursday in the 1300 block of Sherwood Avenue near Charlotte Avenue.
Kalamazoo Public Safety officers located the 23-year-old Kalamazoo resident suffering from significant injuries and he was treated at the scene and then taken to a local hospital where he was last listed in stable condition.
Authorities say alcohol is not believed to be a factor, but they did not state whether or not the driver remained on scene or any details regarding the driver. An investigation is underway.
This crash comes during Bicyclist Safety Enforcement Week as Kalamazoo is one of the seven Michigan cities with the highest number of bicycle-involved crashes over a five-year period.
