ANTWERP TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — Police arresting a Paw Paw man in Van Buren County after he fled from a traffic stop.
It happened around 2:15 a.m. Wednesday, August 17, in Antwerp Township when Van Buren County Sheriff’s deputies pulled over 37-year-old Christopher Miller for suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
Authorities say Miller fled from the traffic stop, leading deputies on a pursuit with speeds reaching up to 75 miles per hour. He then jumped out of his car on 30th Street near 40th Avenue in Almena Township and ran into the woods.
Miller was found less than a mile from his car by a Van Buren County K9 unit, and admitted to deputies that he had been drinking earlier that night.
He was lodged in the Van Buren County Jail for Fleeing and Eluding, Open Intoxicants, Operating while intoxicated and multiple warrants.
