LANSING (WKZO) — State officials are making excuses for the delayed release of the much anticipated in-house investigation of Representatives Cindy Gamrat and Todd Courser.
Speaker Kevin Cotter’s Press Secretary, Gideon D’Assandro says boiling down the voluminous report prepared by the House Business office and a delay in the work done by the outside law firm Dickenson Wright means that it will be Monday before the document is ready.
Its author, Tim Bowlin says that it includes information leading to his conclusion that there has been misuse of tax dollars and misconduct by both Gamrat and Courser.
Sources say that the most serious allegations have nothing to do with their extra-marital affair or the clumsy cover-up that followed, but rather with other operations within the office they shared.
Cotter has said there could be a meeting of the Select committee set up to review the facts and recommend a formal house reaction to the Gamrat/Courser matter sometime this week, even though He has not yet named who will make up the committee.
