DETROIT, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – The Cleveland Guardians are now in first place in the American League Central division after beating the Detroit Tigers 3-2 at Comerica Park Wednesday night.
Jose Ramirez and Will Benson each drove in runs for Cleveland while Bryan Shaw earned the win.
Harold Castro and Eric Haase drove in runs for the Tigers. Drew Hutchison allowed three runs over five innings to take the loss.
Detroit is 43-and-69 on the season. They have lost three straight and six of their last seven.
The two teams wrap up their series this afternoon, with the opening pitch at 1:10 p.m.
