STURGIS TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A 50-year-old man from Albion, Indiana was injured Wednesday afternoon when his motorcycle was struck by a turning semi at the intersection of M-66 and Bogen Road in St. Joseph County.
St. Joseph County Sheriff Mark Lillywhite reports the crash happened at about 4:18 p.m.
He says the semi which was driven by a 60-year-old man from Mendon pulled out into the intersection in an attempt to turn north when it collided with the southbound motorcycle on M-66.
The motorcycle driver was flown by Samaritan Air Care to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo and was reported to be in critical condition.
The driver of the semi was not injured. The crash is still under investigation.
Assisting Deputies were the Tri-County Fire Department, Life Care Ambulance, Michigan State Police, the Sturgis Police Department, Sturgis Towing and Samaritan Air Care.
