Laketown Township (WKZO-AM) — Sheriff’s deputies have released the name of a Florida woman who was killed in a collision at an intersection in Allegan County.
She’s been identified as 69-year-old Nancy Russell of Titusville, Fla.
Deputies say it happened Monday afternoon at the intersection of 138th Avenue and 64th Street in Laketown Township. They say a 72-year-old woman from Holland in a Volkswagen Beetle blew through the stop sign on 138th and was struck broadside by a 2003 Chevrolet pickup.
The impact sent the Volkswagen rolling into a ditch, where it landed on its roof. Both occupants, including Russell, were left hanging.
Russell of died at the scene. The driver was rushed to Holland Hospital in serious condition.
The two occupants of the pickup suffered minor injuries.
