KALAMAZOO (WKZO) — One man has been arrested and another is hospitalized with a bullet wound after a shooting at the Citgo Gas Station at Burdick and Alcott around noon yesterday.
Public Safety isn’t saying much because presumably they don’t know much, because neither the victim nor the suspect is cooperating.
According to sources, the two men in question have had an ongoing dispute and a few weeks ago there was an incident between the two where the roles were reversed. Yesterday’s shooting may have been retaliation for that incident.
The victim showed up at Borgess Emergency and hospital staff reported the gunshot wound to police. After treatment he is expected to survive.
The suspect drove off in a maroon van and parked it up the street and went into a home. After a standoff that lasted several hours, the Metro SWAT unit went in with a warrant and searched the place for a gun. No other information has been released.
