BLOOMINGDALE, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A 9-year-old boy from Bloomingdale suffered non-life-threatening injuries after being struck by a pickup truck while crossing the roadway Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office, the boy and his two sisters were going to the grocery store. The boy got out out of his vehicle and started running across the roadway using the crosswalk. A pickup truck traveling southbound, with the driver seeing saw the boy at the last second. The driver hit his brakes, but still struck the child.
The boy was taken to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo by Life EMS.
The accident happened on North Van Buren Street near Kalamazoo Street at 2:35 p.m. Tuesday.
