KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — An armed robbery suspect who escaped custody is back in jail after being found hiding out in a home in Hartford.
Authorities say Kevin Ware escaped Bronson Methodist Hospital last month after robbing a party store in Kalamazoo and wrecking his getaway car in Van Buren County, taking advantage of a communications problem between the hospital and detectives.
Kalamazoo Public Safety says Ware was tracked to the home after a tip, and after being assisted by the Michigan State Police Fugitive Team.
Ware is being held without bond in the Kalamazoo County Jail for armed robbery and three gun-related felonies. Another suspect in the robbery has also been charged and is being held for trial.
