EAST LANSING, MI — Michigan State basketball will tip off the season with yet another marquee game in an unlikely locale.
The Detroit News is reporting the Spartans have agreed to play Gonzaga in a non-conference game on Nov. 11 — Veterans Day — on the deck of the USS Abraham Lincoln off the coast of San Diego. The game will be part of the revived Armed Forces Classic.
This will be the second time the Spartans have played aboard an aircraft carrier. If you’ll recall, MSU battled North Carolina on in 2011 on board the USS Carl Vinson in Southern California.
