KALAMAZOO (WKZO-AM) — One of the biggest arm wrestling tournaments in the Midwest will get underway on Saturday at the Holiday Inn on South 11th Street in Kalamazoo.
George Deible is one of the organizers of the Michigan State Arm Wrestling Championships and says grapplers in just about every weight class and division will show off their grip strength and brandish their bulging biceps for tournament gold.
“It’s growing a little bit more every year,” Deible said. “Last year, we had 271 entries, and we’re expecting to beat that this year.”
The competition is scheduled to start at 1 p.m. in the ballroom of the hotel.
It’s the fourth-consecutive year the championships are being held in Kalamazoo.
