ALLEGAN, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – An Allegan County man was sentenced Thursday to 50 to 75 years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple online sex crime counts.
Steven Lee Foupht was arrested November 10, 2021 as a result of an investigation into the possession of Child Sexually Abusive Material (CSAM). He was arraigned November 22 on a 30 count felony warrant for multiple counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct 1st Degree, Aggravated Child Abusive Sexual Material and Using a Computer to Commit a Crime.
The Allegan County Sheriff’s Office responded to a complaint in Otsego Township regarding information that Foupht was in possession of child pornography on his phone. Search warrants for Foupht’s smartphone and residence were then executed.
After examining his smartphone, investigators discovered it contained a large amount of child sexually abusive material that Foupht had downloaded, as well as material he is believed to have produced himself involving two minor children he had access to.
The discovery of the material lead to criminal charges being authorized by the Allegan County Prosecutors Office.
Foupht was sentenced Thursday in Allegan County Circuit Court.
