BENTON HARBOR (WKZO-AM) — An investigation has been launched after a police officer struck and killed a woman crossing Pipestone Road in Benton Charter Township with his squad car.
Eugene Anderson was responding to a domestic disturbance call when he collided with 48-year-old Kimberly Bedford in the northbound lanes of the thoroughfare at around 9 p.m. Sunday near Clarke Avenue.
The woman died at the scene.
Anderson will remain on paid leave until the conclusion of the investigation.
