PENNFIELD TOWNSHIP (WKZO) — One man is dead and a teen may face charges after a fatal crash in Calhoun County.
A 15-year-old driver with just a learner’s permit is being investigated after he struck and killed a 55-year-old man riding a bicycle in Pennfield Township yesterday afternoon.
It happened just after 4 p.m. in the 24-thousand block of M-78 near 10-1/2 mile road.
Both the teen driver of a van and the man on the bike were heading north east on the roadway when the van came up behind the biker and struck him.
He was pronounced dead at the scene 20-minutes later after efforts to revive him failed. No names have been released pending the notification of family members and possible charges.
M-78 was closed for some time while the accident was investigated.
