EAST LANSING, MI — The Los Angeles Lakers weren’t supposed to have a pick in this year’s NBA draft but made a deal with Orlando and got the 35th overall pick. They used it to draft shooting guard Max Christie from Michigan State.
Christie was projected as a second round draft pick, which is exactly where he went at pick # 35. He left MSU after his freshman season.
Meanwhile, Jaden Ivey is the newest Detroit Piston, selected with the fifth pick in the first round. The Purdue guard averaged 17-point-three points and four-point-nine rebounds a game during his sophomore season.
