PAW PAW (WKZO AM/FM) – A Kalamazoo man is lodged in the Van Buren County Jail after leading deputies on a high-speed chase on I 94.
Deputies observed the suspect driving east on 94 near exit 52 at around 2:20 Sunday morning, traveling at a high rate of speed.
They began pursuit, and the man continued to speed down the highway, reaching speeds over 100 mph.
The suspect tried to leave the highway at exit 66, but the vehicle struck a curb and became disabled.
Deputies arrested both the driver and passenger without incident.
The driver was charged with operating while intoxicated and fleeing and eluding.
The passenger was arrested on an unrelated outstanding warrant.
