WAYNE TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) — Two would-be motorcycle thieves could face serious charges if they are ever caught and prosecuted for a botched attempt to swipe a bike from a home on Twin Lakes Road in Wayne Township.
They were rolling the bike out of a shed when they were confronted by the homeowner’s son, Roy Clark III, who demanded to know what they were doing.
One of the suspects pulled out a small-caliber rifle and took a shot at Clark, but missed. They ran in opposite directions, Clark headed for a phone and the two suspects dropped the bike and headed for the woods.
Cass County deputies brought in a couple of K-9s and even a helicopter to search for the pair. They found their rifle but not the two suspects. Clark got a scare but was not injured.
One of the suspects is a tall skinny male, who was wearing a hooded sweatshirt and a camouflage shirt. The other is a short male, who was wearing glasses and an orange hooded sweatshirt.
