KALAMAZOO, MI (WKZO AM/FM) — The Road Commission of Kalamazoo County announced the closure of two Kalamazoo County bridges on Monday, June 20.
They are the 40th Street bridge between W Avenue and X Avenue in Wakeshma Township, and the TS Avenue bridge between 29th Street and 31st Street in Pavilion Township.
According to a release from the road commission, the closures come after routine bridge analysis and safety inspections on the two structures. It went onto say the two bridges currently have reduced weight limits and that bridge safety inspections revealed further weight restrictions that do not allow for motor vehicle traffic.
The two bridges are closed now until further notice.
Temporary barricades will be placed at either entrance of the bridges and therefore the roads will be closed.
More information on the closures and other road projects can be found online at http://www.kalamazoocountyroads.com
The RCKC would like to stress that it is not safe to move, remove barricades, or drive around them for the safety of the public.
