KALAMAZOO TOWNSHIP (WKZO-AM) — A pair of Kalamazoo men have been arrested in connection to a shooting of another man in the front yard of a home in Kalamazoo Township.
Investigators say they requested help from a Michigan State Police fugitive team to locate 26-year-old Darren Hampton and 22-year-old Kyle Krause. Both were arrested on unrelated warrants on Sept. 15 and Sept. 29 respectively.
Witnesses say they saw an SUV fleeing the scene near Gayle and Kenilworth avenues after 2 a.m. on Sept. 13, where a 29-year-old man would be found in a puddle of his own blood with non-life threatning injuries. He’s still recovering from his wounds.
Components used to make methamphetamine were also found at the scene and later discarded.
Hampton’s been charged with armed robbery, Krause for assault with intent to murder, armed robbery and multiple gun-related felonies.
Both men are jailed on $100,000 bond. Hampton will return to court Oct. 6, whle Krause is scheduled to return Oct. 20.
