BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — Forensics tests are now confirming that it was a bullet that shattered the window of a car and an SUV in rural Calhoun County on Thursday.
There are also new reports that there may have been other shootings along M-66 near Athens that day. It raises fears that the Interstate 94 sniper, or some copycat, is active again.
The other broken windows were apparently cleaned up before the driver realized what had actually happened, spoiling the evidence.
They have yet to find any direct evidence that the incidents are connected to a series of other suspected vehicle shootings that took place along Interstates 69 and 94 over the summer.
Sheriff Matt Saxton says they are seeking search warrants, but refused to elaborate.
