Hang on…the weather is getting ready for a change. Mid to upper 80s aren’t uncommon during September in Michigan. The thermometer may push a bit above that – or, it could turn more early fall-like in our part of the world. It all depends on the meandering of the jet stream over the next five to seven days. If that feature ends up just to the west of the Mississippi valley, frosts could be in store for a few locations in the eastern Dakotas into Minnesota. Jim Bower of Bower Trading in his daily newsletter this week puts northwest Nebraska and northern Minnesota in line for a possible freeze along with the eastern Canada prairies. One way or the other post-Labor Day could be interesting for growers or anyone planning to be outdoors.
