BATTLE CREEK (WKZO-AM) — Most of a federal lawsuit filed by two former high-ranking Battle Creek police officials has been dropped.
Maria Alonzo and Jim Saylor claim they were unlawfully terminated after the city alleged their off-duty relationship created a hostile work environment.
In exchange, the city has dropped its appeal.
Alonzo and Saylor still claim the city breached an employment contract. That portion of the lawsuit is in the discovery phase of the legal process.
